Identify the Real Enemy
John & Matilda Joachim

Every marriage, without exception, exists in a battle zone. This is because the marital union is the foundational unit of human society. When marriages are strong and healthy, families become more peaceful. In turn, peaceful families give rise to healthier communities, thriving churches, and resilient nations. And since the devil is not happy about such transformation, he targets marriages.
However, there is a critical challenge. Under the daily pressures and struggles of marriage, couples can gradually—and often unconsciously—lose sight of who the real enemy is. Depending on the nature of the conflicts they face, some spouses begin to see each other as the enemy. When this happens, chaos is unleashed, and the marriage begins to suffer deeply.
The Bible speaks clearly to this reality:
Ephesians 6:12 [TPT]
Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage.
This scripture makes it unmistakably clear: human beings—including your spouse—are not the real enemy. While a spouse may sometimes be used as a channel of distraction, they are not the source of the battle. When couples fail to understand this truth, they end up fighting each other instead of fighting for their marriage.
Dear lovebirds, do not turn against one another. Stand together and confront the real enemy as a united front. After all, once you correctly identify the enemy, the battle is already halfway won.
