Your Marriage's Assignment
John & Matilda Joachim
·
March, 2026
God made every person unique, each with a divine purpose. And just like people, no two marriages are the same. Beyond love and companionship, every union carries a specific assignment only that couple can fulfill.
Abraham and Sarah? Called to birth a covenant nation. Zechariah and Elizabeth? Tasked with preparing a people for the Lord. Priscilla and Aquila? To model and multiply kingdom partnership. Each marriage has a unique mandate.
But here's the question: do you know the assignment of your marriage? Are you living it intentionally? Doing the general work of marriage—love, respect, faithfulness—is essential, but not enough. Couples must discover their specific divine purpose and embrace it fully. That's how ordinary marriages become extraordinary.
Galatians 6:4-5 [MSG] reminds us:
Explore who you are and the work you've been given, and sink yourself into it. Don't compare yourself with others. Do the creative best you can with your own life.
Awareness changes everything. It guides choices, shapes decisions, and drives couples to go the extra mile.
Always remember: every river finds its own course. Different drums must produce different rhythms. Your marriage has its rhythm. Discover it. Build it. Live it.
